Rootfoot began in 2009 as the vision of founder Laura Huth and her desire to connect deeply with the natural earth and share in this soul opening dissolution through the distillation, experience of plant essences, and synching to the energies of the natural world. Her persistent sense of intrigue opened doors to further explorations and eventually unveiled an ability to connect genuinely and directly with plant wisdom through their scent signatures.
Laura’s understanding of the aromatic signals of the Earth's Flora as language has enabled her to create nuanced and subtle blends that delicately combine messages from different plants into what could be considered a form of natural poetry.
For Laura and her family, the creation process is a communion. It is an intentional exchange. They synch with the rhythms of the land and join consciousness. It is here that they receive wisdom and an offering, extending this as a channel for others to join in this union. Their efforts cultivate a deepening of human relationships with the natural world, putting forth small-batch pure plant fragrances that dissolve the boundaries between disparate life forms.
As a family charged with the task providing the world with portals into these natural dreamscapes, they believe strongly in the simplicity of nature and the importance of curating a conscious experience for themselves and their children to develop authentic and individual relationships with the landscape, plants, and animals as well as with their inner beings, and feel blessed to have the opportunity to share these insights in the form of natural fragrance.
